 Location,
climate, and recreational activities are
not the only compelling incentives to
relocate to an area. For families with
school-aged children, the educational
system is a top priority to consider when
considering a move to a new area.
One word can be used to describe our
parents’ reflection on Manatee County
schools: confidence. Put simply, we offer
our students more than a first-class
education. We also ensure our students are
learning in a nurturing environment that
helps them pave the way to a successful
life in and outside of the school system.
The parents in our district can be
confident that their child is receiving
the best possible education.
Our county educates 40,000 students at 30
elementary schools, eight middle schools,
five high schools, and one Technical
School. The recent addition of two new
elementary schools and a middle school
ensure our class sizes remain relatively
small and foster a more cohesive unit in
the classroom than a larger class size
would permit. Two more elementary schools
are scheduled to open this year.
Manatee County schools are a trademark in
excellence. With a strong commitment to
delivering a solid foundation of the basic
skills in the primary grades, emphasizing
language arts and other academic skills
necessary for transition to high school
and beyond, advanced placement courses at
our high schools, and dual enrollment in
the community college, we believe we have
created an educational environment that
meets the needs of all of our districts’
students.
